Hi all,
What another great turnout we had at our March meeting, and a great turn out to our club run to the Naked Racer in Cheltenham last month.
I first would like to start this report on a sad note and note the passing of Maurice Cole of Sydney, for those that don’t or didn’t know Maurice he was well known within the movement especially around the Sydney area. Our thoughts go out to his family and members of his club in Sydney.
On a happier note, I would like to congratulate Gary and Judy Hislop on their awards at the recent 2021 Van Nationals held in Parkes NSW held over the Easter period. Gary’s van took out third best van in Australia and second-best engine bay. Well done Gary and Judy.
This month’s run takes us to the Castlemaine and Maldon areas on Sunday the 18th of April. We will be leaving the club rooms at 9.00am and leaving BP Calder Park (outbound) at 10.00am. Should be a good day visiting this wonderful area of Victoria. The run for May will be to Marysville, which is another awesome town to visit.
I would like to remind members that the Monash Men’s Shed will be hosting its Monster Garage Sale at the club rooms on Saturday 17th April between 8.30am and 2.00pm if you are after some tools for your shed, this is a great opportunity to grab a bargain and support the Monash Men’s Shed.
Planning is going well for the 50th birthday celebrations to be held on the 4th of September. There will be more details at the meeting tonight. If you have any details or any past members, please pass them onto the committee, so we can make contact. I know Michael Delzoppo is chasing up all past members.
The State Titles is progressing well for October. Now if you haven’t already booked your accommodation, I would recommend that you book this now, as at time of writing nearly all the rooms have been booked. If you have any concerns about the state titles, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the committee.
Anyway, that’s it for me for the month, I look forward to seeing so many familiar faces on the club runs and events.
If you are on the road, please drive safe.
Jason.
