Hi all,

What anoth­er great turnout we had at our March meet­ing, and a great turn out to our club run to the Naked Rac­er in Chel­tenham last month.

I first would like to start this report on a sad note and note the pass­ing of Mau­rice Cole of Syd­ney, for those that don’t or did­n’t know Mau­rice he was well known with­in the move­ment espe­cial­ly around the Syd­ney area. Our thoughts go out to his fam­i­ly and mem­bers of his club in Sydney.

On a hap­pi­er note, I would like to con­grat­u­late Gary and Judy His­lop on their awards at the recent 2021 Van Nation­als held in Parkes NSW held over the East­er peri­od. Gary’s van took out third best van in Aus­tralia and sec­ond-best engine bay. Well done Gary and Judy.

This month’s run takes us to the Castle­maine and Mal­don areas on Sun­day the 18th of April. We will be leav­ing the club rooms at 9.00am and leav­ing BP Calder Park (out­bound) at 10.00am. Should be a good day vis­it­ing this won­der­ful area of Vic­to­ria. The run for May will be to Marysville, which is anoth­er awe­some town to visit.

I would like to remind mem­bers that the Monash Men’s Shed will be host­ing its Mon­ster Garage Sale at the club rooms on Sat­ur­day 17th April between 8.30am and 2.00pm if you are after some tools for your shed, this is a great oppor­tu­ni­ty to grab a bar­gain and sup­port the Monash Men’s Shed.

Plan­ning is going well for the 50th birth­day cel­e­bra­tions to be held on the 4th of Sep­tem­ber. There will be more details at the meet­ing tonight. If you have any details or any past mem­bers, please pass them onto the com­mit­tee, so we can make con­tact. I know Michael Del­zop­po is chas­ing up all past members.

The State Titles is pro­gress­ing well for Octo­ber. Now if you haven’t already booked your accom­mo­da­tion, I would rec­om­mend that you book this now, as at time of writ­ing near­ly all the rooms have been booked. If you have any con­cerns about the state titles, please do not hes­i­tate to con­tact any mem­ber of the committee.

Any­way, that’s it for me for the month, I look for­ward to see­ing so many famil­iar faces on the club runs and events.
