Interclub Challenge with Melbourne Chapter — Bowling — September 2019.

Article by Jim Bishop

We arrived at the Forest Hill Chase shopping centre at 11.30 am to find Ian Maclean already waiting. So we decided to go into the bowling centre and grab a coffee and wait for people to arrive inside we found that were 6 or 7 already there.

So we confirmed our pre booked bowling lanes and food selections in preparation for the event by midday many members from both clubs had arrived so it was time to “shoe up” and form teams and settle in for what promised to be a great afternoon.

It proved to be a great afternoon with two games per person being played and five teams in total. With so many teams playing the individual scoring was of great interest to every one and the competitive nature between both individuals and our two clubs was robust with lots of good hearted banter.

We enjoyed the hot food provided during the afternoon and continued playing until all games were completed. Pappy and I agreed on how we would decide the final result. The completed bowling card sheets were collected from the management desk and evened out the player numbers for each side and averaged the scores.

The results were EMHC 179 — Melbourne Chapter 191. So our guests won.

Congratulations to to the Melbourne Chapter members they retain the trophy “UNTIL NEXT TIME” when we compete.

So our day ended and a good joint run was held and was really well attended.

Stay happy and safe. Jim and Kay.
