This has turned out to be a busy month for our club and committees, with the monthly meeting, Xmas breakup, Bunnings BBQ, club committee meeting and the State Titles committee meeting and our committee Xmas breakup dinner, the coming year looks full of action as well with lots of runs already flagged.
Our Xmas breakup Dec 8th started with meeting up with Rod and Sharron and Peter and Linda at the club rooms early and others soon arrived to help set up. We looked forward to a good day with perfect weather, we soon had the tables and chairs set up outside and soon realised we had more folks arriving than anticipated so additional tables and chairs were arranged. We had catered for a large group so there was plenty of food, Peter Corrigan and Pete Charman with the assistance of our young BBQ cook in training Eden Del Citto (Janine King’s son) soon had the meat and onions sizzling, many thanks to these three guys for a job well done.
With the ladies inside setting up the salads we were soon ready for lunch and everyone ate well. Throughout the day we also enjoyed the Barista perfect coffee provided personally by Janine King it was lovely, desert was equally enjoyed by all.
Then Jason presented the Xmas gifts to the younger ones present and then it was time to draw the lucky door prize raffle for the wonderful Xmas gift hampers with Barry Maxted our distant member from Shepparton winning first prize congrats Barry. Jason then went onto let everyone know details of our first runs in the new year and that we are in preparation mode for the October state titles and the celebrations for our clubs 50th anniversary.
We finished the day later in the afternoon after everyone enjoyed a great day.
