Hi all,
Welcome to the October newsletter and I am writing this on the last day of September, just after completing our successful presentation night held via zoom on Wednesday the 29th of September.
Congratulations to all our winners, I have sent Tristan a list of all the winners to include in our newsletter this month. However, I would like to make some notable congratulations to Kim Radenic for the “Steve Hodges Perpetual Trophy” encouragement award, to joint winners Jim Bishop and Rod Grummitt for the Steering Wheel (Dash Fascia) award for attending most runs throughout the year, and to Rod Grummitt for the Ross Atkins award for the Car of the Year with his Green FJ ute and the Noel Hall Perpetual Shield for the Top Clubman Award to Gary Hislop. I would also like to congratulate and acknowledge our two newest Life Members Gary Beardsley and Barry Maxted.
Unfortunately, due to lockdown the presentation night had to be cancelled this year, so it was only fitting that we held it this year via zoom.
It will come as no surprise to members due to the current lockdown restrictions here in Melbourne, that the upcoming 43rd AEHF Victorian FX FJ State Titles that was to be held at Heritage Golf Course and Yarra Valley Lodge on the 16th and 17th of October have been postponed to 2022.
The state titles committee is currently liaising with the venue operators to secure a new date for next year. It is the committees preferred option to again run this event in October of next year.
At this stage we are waiting on communication with the venue operators to ascertain the new date. Once we have a new date, we will advise all entrants and clubs on the new date and details of all current bookings moving forward. If anyone has any concerns or queries, please get in touch with either myself or Richard Fox.
For those club members that need to have their Club Permit Scheme books signed and are having trouble having these signed for renewal, please get in contact with me and we can arrange to have these signed by post, until we meet again in person. Unfortunately, we do not know when we will be next at the clubrooms.
Anyway, that’s it for me for the month.
If you are on the road, please drive safe.
Jason.
